Denver To Trump:"You're Fired!" Trump Stays.

After much anticipation of The Donald building in Denver and having to deal with me, all hope was lost last week when he was "FIRED" from a list of bidders vying to redevelop Denver's Union Station. Apparently, Trump's team submitted a two-page proposal-- failing to provide the requested information. What?!!

“I think at the end of the day, they thought the Trump name was all that would be necessary,” Byron Koste, who has been observing the selection process as head of the University of Colorado Real Estate Center at the Leeds School of Business, according to GlobeSt.com. “This was their chance to let the selection committee know you understand the issues but you can’t do that in just a page or two.” (GlobeSt.com) Wow... I didn't know Denver was so tough.

The Union Station project is expected to cost $1 billion, will serve as a gateway to Denver’s Downtown and link the Lower Downtown and Central Platte neighborhoods. Although this is going to be a very unique project, Trump has not been discouraged. According to the Denver Biz Journal, "Donald Trump and international investment and development company Bayrock Group LLC are still planning a luxury high-rise condominium hotel project in Denver. The firms have decided to focus their efforts on developing a single tower."

"While it is our belief that the Union Station project will be a phenomenal success to the vibrant Denver landscape, we have determined that a single-tower, five-star development is a more focused opportunity for us now," The Trump Organization CEO Donald Trump said in a news release on Thursday. Damn! There goes my plan for building a five-star developement. How's that for pissing off the wrong person.

I guess The Donald was extremely excited about working in Denver. Since he was dropped, he has now been motivated outbuild anything in Denver. Well, that's good news for Denver and bad news for Union Station. As Tami Door, president and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership, said to The Rocky Mtn News: "It is a great example of the confidence in downtown Denver by developers and their confidence in its future. It is a true testament that Denver, especially downtown, is seen as a good opportunity. That wasn't the case 10 or 15 years ago."

Well there you have people; Trump stays in Denver, Union Station precedes without Trump, and now Trump has to deal with me, the resident realtor. Welcome to my 'hood Donald! You're Not Fired!
